!! ACF commits support to D of E and Chance UK !!
Earlier this year, the trustees of the Antal Charitable Foundation decided to focus its support to 2 main UK children and young people's charities. The purpose of dedicating our resources like this is to provide us with focus and direction. Several charities were met to see which ones could benefit the most from our input and that gave the greatest benefit back to children in a way that followed our own ideas.
We are proud to support The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Many thousands of young people in the UK today are failing to achieve their potential, held back by lack of opportunity, disability, exclusion, low expectations or a lack of confidence. Youth charity The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award inspires over 275,000 young people per year to develop skills, fitness, compassion and initiative, and gives young people of every background the opportunity to succeed. It relies on donations and needs to raise over £100,000 per week to continue its vital work.
What we really liked about them was that the awards given to the young people completing the various stages hold equal value no matter what they had to do to earn it. With the variety of skills and abilities between the young people, this was a very significant deciding factor. The D of E award is also now becoming more and more popular with UK employers as a positive item to include on a CV.
We also proudly support Chance UK. Chance UK provides one to one mentoring to Children with behavioural difficulties. Many of the children are almost at the point of being rejected from schools. They believe that by breaking the cycle of bad behaviour at an early age means that they are less likely to cause trouble later in life.
The ACF is very much looking forward to a positive year with these two great causes. For more information on the work that they do, please follow the links below;
